Victoria has devoted her entire professional career to reducing the harmful impacts of alcohol and other drugs. She is a research psychologist and has worked for over 20 years in addiction treatment services in the UK, Singapore and Australia. She is an Associate Professor in Addictions at Monash University and Head of Research and Workforce Development at Turning Point, Australia’s leading addiction treatment, training and research centre. Since completing her PhD on alcohol and cognition at Kings College University, London, she has been studying ways to optimise cognition to enhance decision-making and control over addictive behaviours. As a recovery group facilitator, she sees how unhealthy habits are maintained by both conscious and subconscious processes. She combines these insights with her knowledge and research expertise to develop new solutions that aim to help people regain control over their drinking.
